Theo Dias (OAB/SP – 96583) was born on November 9, 1965 in the city of São Paulo. He has a law degree from the Law School of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1987), a Master of Law (LL.M) degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA (1992) and a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Saarland, Saarbrücken, Germany (2001). He was a Professor at São Paulo Law School of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV Direito SP), is President of the Board of Conectas Human Rights, and a member of the Board of Instituto Pro Bono, Instituto Sou da Paz and Innocence Project Brasil. Author of Community Policing and Police Accountability: the US experience (Editora Lumen Juris, 2003, 2ª ed.) and Urban security: new models of criminal prevention (Editora Revista dos Tribunais, 2005).
