Theo Dias (OAB/SP – 96583) was born on November 9, 1965 in the city of São Paulo. He has a law degree from the Law School of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1987), a Master of Law (LL.M) degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA (1992) and a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Saarland, Saarbrücken, Germany (2001). He is Professor at São Paulo Law School of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV Direito SP), President of the Board of Conectas Human Rights, and a member of the Board of Instituto Pro Bono, Instituto Sou da Paz and Innocence Project Brasil. Author of Community Policing and Police Accountability: the US experience (Editora Lumen Juris, 2003, 2ª ed.) and Urban security: new models of criminal prevention (Editora Revista dos Tribunais, 2005).
