Luis Francisco Carvalho Filho (OAB/SP - 63.600) was born on December 4, 1957 in the city of São Paulo. He has a law degree from the São Paulo University Law School (1980). He was a member of the Federal Drugs Board (Conselho Federal de Entorpecentes) (1985-1987) and chaired the Special Commission on Dead and Missing People, established by the Act 9140/95 (2001/2004). He is a former Board Member of the São Paulo Lawyers Association (Associação dos Advogados de São Paulo - AASP). Between 2005 and 2008, he was the director of the Mario de Andrade Municipal Library. Carvalho Filho wrote O que é Pena de Morte (Editora Brasiliense, 1995), Nada mais foi dito nem perguntado (Editora 34, 2001), A Prisão (Editora Publifolha, 2002) and Newton (Editora Fósforo, 2022). He is co- author of the screenplay of the movie Crime Delicado by Beto Brant (2005). He is member of the Board of the IDDD (Institute for Defense of the Rigth to Defense) and a columnist at Folha de S.Paulo.
